Suffoca has just released a nice looking batch of new t-shirts and stuff today. It’s got some really nice looking illustrations that were all drawn by hand on paper rather than digitally. It helps add a nice kind of handmade quality that you don’t see that much anymore in bigger brands.
The tees are running around £20.00 and the crew neck sweatshirts are running £30.00 which isn’t too bad. I’d definitely recommend checking it out – http://suffoca.com/shop/

I recently launched a new site for you t-shirt/hoody fans out there in the internets. That Shirt Rules allows anyone to submit a shirt, and then everyone will vote on whether or not it’s any good.
It will eventually be a really good place to come and find some good looking new shirts, assuming people tag their submissions properly.
If you’re running a brand, there’s a chance you can get free advertising on the site as well. The brand of the 100th shirt submitted will get free advertising for a month. After that initial 100 shirts, the brand of the shirt with the most positive reviews during a month will get free advertising.

Andy (the premier t-shirt/hoodie blogger over at HideYourArms) just launched a new site that lists every t-shirt blog and lets your rate them. You can also submit your blog to get it on the list if it isn’t already.
Check it out at http://t-shirtblo.gs. And if you want to, vote for Indie Threads while you’re there.

A long time ago in a t-shirt blog not so far away there was an interview with a small t-shirt company. That company was called Sharp Shirter. Now, said company is having a 25% off sale through Monday (November, 30th 2009) on everything in their store. You don’t need a coupon code or anything.
Since that interview took place, they’ve done quite a bit of growing and have massively expanded their product line. Before it was just a couple of t-shirts. Now, there’s quite a few t-shirts in both men and women sizing, dresses, scarves, laptop skins, hoodies, and more. There’s something for everyone, so get on over there and pick yourself up something nice.
Head on over to Sharp Shirter now before it’s too late!

You may have seen this before, but Indie Threads was basically gone for about a year, so there’s a lot to catch up on. This hoody from Fuzzy Ink is pretty darn radical. With it being almost December now, it would make the perfect shirt to display your nerdiness for Nintendo and keep you nice and warm. If you’re one of the lucky people that lives where it doesn’t really get too cold you can still get this bad boy in a regular t-shirt version here. And, to put the icing on the cake of awesome that is this hoody (and tee), they’re on sale at the time of this writing for $33.96 (hoody) and $16.11 (tee).
So, go pick one up over at Fuzzy Ink!

Snakes & Suits have released their new winter line. It’s packed full of cool tees, a hoody and some new woven shirts. Most of the new tees come in multiple color ways and they all look pretty darn good.
My favorite of the new shirts (other than the spiffy new woven shirts which aren’t pictured here) would either have to be their Ampersand logo tee or their Wish & Hope & love & Cure tee. The latter will have a portion of the proceeds donated to the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation, so it scores bonus points with me.
Go check out their new stuff!

Well, before they take their break, Seibei has released the Hungry Eye Hoodie.
I dig the monster here. It looks monster-like and somewhat friendly at the same time. Kind of like Sloth from The Goonies. A scary looking thing that’s been trapped in a small room for his entire life and treated badly but with a heart of gold.
This is their second hoodie. The first being the Ice Wizard Hoodie. Both of these are printed on American Apparel stock, which means that they’re really nice and soft. It’s pretty limited right now – only about 28 are in existence, so you’ll want to get it while you can before their little break. It’s available in sizes small through double extra large and it costs $55 USD.

This hoody is from a somewhat unknown and new company called Featherweight.
Usually, I think that birds are kind of an over used focal point for a lot of brands these days. However, I think that they’ve pulled it off quite nicely. The denim patch in the background makes a very simple design really stand out from the crowd. I know if I were trying to decide between a hoody with that over used sparrow and this, I would definitely choose this one. Especially after having seen it in person.
Featherweight has quite a bit to choose from too. That’s why I’m trying to figure out why their name isn’t out there as much. They’ve got quite a few kids styles, including one rad robot shirt that needs to be made into an adult size, and they’ve got scarves.
Their tees are $15 each and their hoodies are $25 each. All printed on American Apparel. Oh, and if you don’t like this brown version, they’ve got a black version too.

So, I was looking around on Etsy for one of my favorite local screen printers, my friend Charlotte, who does these absurdly soft water-based prints of animals and ships onto tees that she dyes herself…but alas, I found Sarah Apple instead!
It’s hard to tell from this photo, but this hoodie in question (an American Apparel, which is now my favorite hoodie brand) is covered top to bottom in a viking print. Pretty sweet, sure, but these are done with wood block printing. say whaaaaat? I actually studied wood block printing for a portion of the year I lived in Kyoto, and I definitely miss it…I’m going to hit her up and ask how well wood blocks and water-based ink (which I assume she’s using) and apparel go together. My concern would be keeping good opacity on darks (which she seems to have here) without giving a rough hand to the print…
Anyway, sorry to keep on about it, but I like this hoodie because not only is it nice looking, but it was done in a way that I at least don’t normally expect to see in textile printing.
Also, this is a lesson to all of us, to check out Etsy at least every now and then to check out interesting stuff like this.

David from Seibei, our featured shop, put up their new hoodie, The Ice Wizard, up for pre-order today.
It’s been pretty exciting watching this come into bloom in the blog over there. I feel like I’ve been in the know as long as he has. This hoodie is pretty awesome. It’s got a great hood print and their trademark Sandwich Dino on the chest. Right now they’ve only got asphault and teal but they are working on brown and pink one. But seriously, this is one of the more innovative hoodies I’ve seen. I know I wouldn’t have thought to put the design on the hood like that…
Some more good news about Seibei. They’ve got a coupon code that will save you $2 on your order until the end of the year. Just type in GARBAGETRUCK when you check out. These hoodie pre-orders are going for $40 and are expected to go up a little bit after the first week or two, so go preorder now and save some money.
