Craft Fair?

So, in an effort to promote Indie Threads some more, a few users and I have come up with an idea. This summer, The Renegade Craft Fair will be taking place both in both New York and Chicago. The price to get a booth is $210 and will pay for two days and all the permits.

The plan is getting a big vinyl banner for Indie Threads and having a booth with a few of the shops from the site. The reason behind this is to help some shops that might not otherwise be able to afford the $210 fee. This way, we could all split the cost evenly between the people interested.

The question, now, is this: Would you, as a shop be interested in splitting the cost of a booth in either of the cities? I mainly plan on Chicago, but maybe if there are enough people interested in New York, we might be able to arrange something.

A few things to keep in mind:

  • It’s a juried entry, meaning there’s a slight chance we might not be able to have a booth
  • The booth space is only 10′ x 10′
  • Travel and hotel costs

Well, what do you think?

Not Just a Tee Blog

As I said yesterday, I like things that say "beep". This further proves it. This is Robofeto by Fetopia.net. It’s made out out of polymer clay.

There is a vast selection of little fetuses for sale, including the standard Cletus and the Japan which looks like a little ninja. By the way, in the battle of ninjas versus pirates… I’m a longtime ninja supporter. Let me just mention a quad of turtles you might know by the names of four famous painters. Yeah, Johnny, you can’t win them all. …Now I’m not saying I’m not a fan of Johnny Depp… he’s pretty great. Edward Scissorhands is a good movie. So is What’s Eating Gilbert Grape?. But to think that Ed Wood could win in a fight against the Ninja Turtles is just ignorant.

Anyway… Fetopia has a lot of different choices in little one to two inch little fetus figures. They range from $0.50 to $2.00. And while some people might find them offensive – the words of my mother were "That’s sick" – I find them pretty awesome.
